The Kid Daytona - The Interlude (2010)

This is a free album from The Kid Daytona. I believe this is free because of the samples used would have cost him a fortune and without the samples the production would be rather dull. As it is now though this is excellent music all around.

Alain Goraguer - OST La PlanĆØte Sauvage (1973)

This is the soundtrack to the 1973 french animated movie La PlanĆØte Sauvage. It is done entirely by Alain Goraguer who worked with Serge Gainsbourg. The album is a trip as it weaves it way through synths and horns while always sounding mysterious. If you have heard Madlib's Quasimoto albums then you will recognize some of this music immediately. Doris Duke - I'm A Loser (1964)

This album is supposed to be a depressing look at southern soul music but it honestly cheers me up. The subjects she sings about are depressing but there is something about the plight of her songs that give me an uplifting feeling. Regardless of the subjects this album is amazing, the bass lines employed here are some of the best in soul music.
