A compilation album of various stolen guest spots and Lynch songs courtesy of Cedric Singleton from Black Market Records. Although the tracks can be heard on other albums they're put together here to make a nice little album. Props to Waria for telling me this is actually worth hearing a while ago.

Mass 187 - Real Trues Paying Dues (1996)

Great out of print g-funk album from these Kansas City artists. While a majority of the album is produced by Grim Reaper Crazy C does step in and produce an outstanding remix of "Gangsta Strut". Each rapper's flow is on point and the production is outstanding. Definitely worth checking out.

I Smooth 7 - Coolin In Da Ghetto (1995)

This unreleased g-funk gem from 1995 shows DJ Battlecat's prowess as a producer. Boasting one of the greatest g-funk songs ever made in "Coolin In Da Ghetto" this album provides those great beats that's to be expected from the likes of this producer. I Smooth 7, however, certainly holds his own with a great, entertaining flow that complements the production perfectly.

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life (1976)

The definition of a classic, often revered as Stevie Wonder's magnum opus, and for those that don't know what the fuck that means it's his best album. I can't confirm this personally because I haven't heard the others, but I can tell you this is a straight masterpiece. Sunz Of Man - The Last Shall Be First (1998)

Some Wu-Affiliates here with the Sunz of Man. They dropped this gem back in 1998 and its still sounds as great as the first time I listened to it. Hell Razah and Prodigal Sunn light each track up and the guest spots are on point with the likes of Killah Priest and Method Man making appearances.

Simply some good music here from the group Hero. They don't do anything special nor do they do anything new, but what they do is a great job of what they know. This album has very good to great production while having an alternative sound at the same time. Its easy on the ears and addicting to the soul.

Sharkey & C-Rayz Walz Are...Monster Maker (2007)

Sharkey and C-Rayz Walz prove unequivocally that you don't need to release a 22-plus track album to rock the party hard. A streamlined album with 12 tracks of uncut killer is worth two in the bush of over-stuffed filler. By eliminating the need to fast-forward this, the duo has reclaimed the rap album mantle from the stifling world of chart topping singles and secondary hits. Furthermore, they've managed to combine the tightest elements of electro-beat, real soul, and turgid rap litany into a cohesive blend of next level soniference that'll melt the wax in your ears.

David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972)

Bowie's a fuckin rock and roll legend and he's got so many great songs in his catalogue. This was the first Bowie album I ever bought and over time it's just gotten better and better. This style of rock is called "glam rock", I think mostly cause dude used to wear makeup on stage when he performed. For a short time he wasn't Bowie anymore, but this alterego Ziggy Stardust, and this album tells the story. From the start of his career, through this exotic space voyage, eventually leading to his death. Lot of classic tracks on this album, the title track is probably the most recognizable.
  1. "Five Years" – 4:43
  2. "Soul Love" – 3:33
  3. "Moonage Daydream" – 4:35
  4. "Starman" – 4:16

LoDeck & Omega One - Postcards From the Third Rock (2008)

The collaboration between indie producer Omega One and underground microphone maestro LoDeck is one of those smoldering aural events that features deep rooted jazz beats, crustified chunks of funk, and esoteric wordplay that will leave your head spinning.

Postcards from the Third Rock
is intelligent Jeep music for the discerning rap fanatic tired of quick hits and rote gangsta verite. This is the kind of album that transcends the late night, blurry eyed headphone session mentality and delivers more than 600 bars of abstract verbal heat wrapped in Teflon coated deep groove; it makes you actually hear the music as each successive listen will unveil new meaning to the words and uncover additional layers of sound.

LoDeck and Omega One seem more concerned with moving the art form forward rather than just lounging on the status quo bandwagon, which is just how rap should be.

Danger Mouse & Jemini - Ghetto Pop Life (2005)

An instant classic that missed its moment. Jem's acrobatic style of emceeing is one of the most original and refreshing flows to grace rap, causing one to wonder why he never materialized beyond underground status after he first emerged back in the early '90s. Often profound, sometimes copious, always inventive, Jemini plays games with words, and his style is always distinctive. Danger Mouse's production is, for lack of a better world, epic. From funk, jazz, rock, etc, the textures, and layers in GPL are a wonder to hear. The production on this album probably won't be bettered for years to come.

Four Tops - Millenium Collection (1964 - 1973)

This might be my first MoTown post, but MoTown put out so much great R&B and Soul back in the day. If you've ever listened to an oldies station on the radio you've probably heard all of these songs. I love the Four Tops, possibly my favorite MoTown group, perhaps The Temptations edge them out with a couple songs I don't know. But I'm just listening to this now and I forgot how much I loved them, I listened to oldies stations a lot when my dad used to drive me around places. This is one of those Millenium Collections greatest hits joints, they were more single oriented back then anyway. I highly suggest this to everyone, it's great 60s era R&B.

Organized Konfusion - Stress: The Extinction Agenda (1994)

This one's for Pistol, fantastic fucking album dude. I'm pretty sure Solid first put me on to this one, and I was lucky to find it in my local used CD store. The whole album's great, Monch and Po just tear these beats the hell up, both got crazy flows. Everyone always talks about Monch but Po def holds his own. Favorite lines are Monch with "I'm the man with the gift of the gab" and Po with "Just to get the job done". Nothing really special about those lines lyrically but it's how they flow them that is so amazing. Enjoy.

Naughty by Nature (1991)

This is my vote for the most underrated album, atleast on the boards. I never see anyone talk about Naughty at all, and this album is just too fuckin sick. O.P.P. still a bangin song, I don't know anyone who doesn't like it even like the old dudes at work like that song. Even besides that it's full of hot tracks, they just tear it up. Classic front to back.

  1. "Yoke the Joker" - 5:07
  2. "Wickedest Man Alive (feat. Queen Latifah)" - 4:21
  3. "O.P.P." - 4:31
  4. "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" - 4:50
  5. "Let the Ho's Go" - 4:16
  6. "Every Day All Day" - 5:41
  7. "Guard Your Grill" - 5:01
  8. "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" - 3:47
  9. "1, 2, 3 (feat. Lakim Shabazz and Apache)" - 4:38
  10. "Strike a Nerve" - 6:21
  11. "Rhyme'll Shine On (feat. Aphrodity)" - 3:56
